Droplet privacy policy

Droplet transfers files directly between nearby phones. This policy explains what the app handles, what stays on your device, and which service providers process subscription information.

Files and transfers

Droplet accesses only files you select through the operating system's file picker. On iPhone and Android, Droplet creates an app-private working copy so a transfer can continue safely after the picker closes. Working copies are deleted after a successful send, when you remove the file from the queue, when a selection is rejected, or when the app next starts after an interruption. A failed or cancelled transfer keeps its queued copy only for the current app session so you can retry. Your original file is never deleted. The selected files are transferred directly to the phone you confirm, using an encrypted local connection. Droplet does not upload file contents to a Pocket Dimension Studio server.

The receiving phone creates a private local copy only after its user accepts the transfer. A received file leaves Droplet's private storage only when that user chooses Save. Clearing transfer history removes the receipt, not an exported file. Uninstalling Droplet removes files and records that remain in the app's private storage, subject to operating-system behavior.

Nearby connection information

While discovery is active, Droplet exchanges a chosen device name, phone platform, rotating session identifier, radio observations and the connection messages required to establish and verify a transfer. Nearby users should compare the six-digit code shown on both phones before confirming. Droplet does not use a hardware address as a permanent user identity.

Information stored on your phone

Droplet stores your chosen device name, onboarding state, haptic and motion preferences, transfer receipts and app-private received-file copies on your device. Droplet does not require an account, contacts, precise location, microphone, camera or broad photo-library access.

Subscriptions

Apple or Google processes your payment. RevenueCat processes subscription status, product identifiers, purchase history and the app/user identifiers and diagnostics needed to offer, verify and restore Droplet Pro. Droplet does not receive or store your payment-card details. RevenueCat's handling of this information is described in its privacy policy: https://www.revenuecat.com/privacy

Permissions

• Bluetooth and nearby-device access find a phone that you bring close and establish the control connection.
• Local-network and nearby-Wi-Fi access create the direct route used to transfer accepted files.
• Notifications on Android show an active background transfer and provide a way to stop it.
• The Android foreground service and temporary wake lock run only for an active connection or transfer.

Legacy Android versions may describe Bluetooth discovery as a location permission. Droplet does not request or record GPS coordinates.

Retention and deletion

Droplet has no user account and no Pocket Dimension Studio cloud file store. Outgoing working copies follow the short lifecycle described above. Delete transfer history inside the app and uninstall Droplet to remove its other private local data. Files exported to Files or another folder must be deleted there separately. Subscription records are retained by Apple, Google and RevenueCat under their policies and legal obligations; use your store account to manage the subscription.

Children

Droplet is a general-audience utility and is not directed to children under 13.
